Choosing the right camera
Not every vehicle needs the same setup. Here is what to consider.
Surface mounted
Mounts on any flat surface, usually high up. That gives a commanding view and excellent depth perception, and it is the first choice for larger vehicles.
Infrared night vision
Infrared LEDs give you a picture even in total darkness. Expect about 20 to 30 feet of range in monochrome, which is normal for infrared.
License plate mounted
Fits into the existing plate hole, so there is no drilling or modification. Depending on your plate position, the view can be off-centre or close to the road.
